The American Wire Gauge(AWG) system used in North America, and the European Harmonized types. In AWG system, the cordage is described in terms of wire gauge size such as 16 or 18 AWG, while a Harmonized cordage is expressed by mean of mm² (an 18 AWG conductor is comparable to 0.75 mm²)
